Drug & Alcohol Counseling
The ADAM Project is a collaborative effort between The Center Long Beach and Behavioral Health Services to serve a key demographic in the Long Beach area that is at risk for substance use and the contraction and transmission of HIV. Based on current data provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) we have identified that Latinos and African Americans, specifically men who have sex with men (MSM), in Long Beach are disproportionately affected by HIV and the use of substances, particularly methamphetamine.
It is our goal at the ADAM Project to develop and implement an outreach strategy that identifies the needs of these communities and offer comprehensive services aimed at reducing the risk and harm of substance use and sex practices.
