Long Beach Symphony Orchestra
VIP Reception and Performance
7 p.m. Friday, January 23
Terrace Theater ~ LB Performing Arts Center
The Long Beach Symphony Orchestra invites you to a reception in the lobby of the Terrace Theater (300 E. Ocean Blvd.) at 7 p.m. Light edibles will be offered along with wine and, possibly, a no-host bar. (The bar service, which is tentative at this point, would involve the only on-site costs to reception attendees.)
Then, at 8 p.m., experience the final rehearsal—a complete and FREE performance—of the Symphony’s scheduled January 24 “Tchaikovsky Troika” concert. (For details of the program, visit .)
If you haven’t attended an LBSO concert before, this is our way of opening the doors to one of the city’s great cultural treasures.
The performance is limited to 200 people.

Mental Health Counseling Program
The Center Long Beach is opening a new Mental Health Program. The Kick-off Celebration is a 4pm, Feb. 4, 2009. Please Come!
A steering committee of Long Beach community leaders, chaired by Richard Lewis, Dr. Carrie Rickard, and honorary co-chair Nancy Foster, has worked for three months to develop the program. It will feature low cost assessment and psycho-therapy within a clinical training framework. A licensed clinical social worker is being hired to supervise social work, and Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s level interns. Our new program will not only help service current in our community but will also help train a new generation of GLBTQA sensitive professionals.
Come and find out more on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 4pm starting at The Art Theater and then moving over to The Center Long Beach (located at 2017 E. 4th St.).

Albertsons’ Community Partners Program
As many of you know, The Center earns much needed funding through the Albertsons' Community Partners Program. We need your help to keep this funding going.
Even if you have already linked your Preferred Savings Card to The Center for donations, it must be done again - by February 28th.
If you don't know about this program, now is a great time to get aquainted with it! It doesn't cost you anything, but by linking The Center to your Preferred Savings Card, Albertson's donates up to 4% of your spending to us!
