The Cupboards are Bare at The AIDS Food Store
The has served the HIV/AIDS community for 25 years through canned, packaged food and financial donations. Due to the current economic climate, The AIDS Food Store of Long Beach has seen a 25-40% decline in donations while seeing a 35-50% increase in clients.
A food collection barrel, painted by the MYTE youth group for 'A Day in Paradise', a benefit for The AIDS Food Store at Paradise Restaurant and Bar last September has been placed in the lobby of The Center.
Please dig through your cupboards and drop off canned or packaged goods and place them in the barrel. The AIDS Food Store mission is simple...to provide food, hugs and a warm smile to those affected by HIV/AIDS until there is a cure.
Get To Know Us First
In the wake of California’s passage of Proposition 8, a group of gay and lesbian families are taking to the airwaves with five 30-second Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that are airing on daytime and prime time television throughout the state.
Get To Know Us First PSAs ran in urban and rural markets on broadcast and cable channels during the Presidential Inauguration and will continue through the spring. Their purpose is to capture the hearts and minds of people who do not understand why marriage is so important to us.
Our message:
Marriage promotes families.
