There are very strong indications that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger intends to slash HIV/AIDS services by more than $80 million, which would devastate HIV/AIDS care and prevention programs statewide.
The time for action is now.

Starting today, the State Legislature may approve the budget deal that the governor, Assembly and Senate leadership have agreed on. This proposal will include cuts to state HIV/AIDS programs that were expected given an economic climate that demands budget reductions in every corner of state and local government.
However, the governor still has the option of vetoing these more modest cuts in favor of his original plan to eliminate many of these vital programs. Once the Governor has vetoed budget line items and signed the bill, these changes may be permanent.

Early Intervention Programs (EIPs),

The Center Wants You!
We are in need of volunteers who are willing to do phone banking for The Center, tomorrow, July 14 from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.
The group will go through a half an hour of training and then make phone calls for 2 hours asking people to make donations to The Center.
I cant tell you how important this is right now. Times are tough and money is tight. If you can give your time tomorrow, please do so. Also, if you have your own cell phone and dont mind making calls on it, that would be terrific! Phones and office space are limited here.
