Description: The Center Long Beach joined forces with Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal, Cmdr Beckman and Cmdr Bennedetti in hosting a Hate Crime Community Forum at Bixyby Park. Much appreciation for the support of Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske, 4th Street & Broadway business associations, CCEJ, the neighborhood groups, the Human Dignity Program/Human Relations Commission and all from our community who came out in support.

Description: LGB2NETWORK and UP LOUNGE at the SYK ROOM held their annual 80's Halloween Party. The beautiful rooftop lounge in Downtown Long Beach was transformed into a ghoulishly festive venue. Upbeat 80's music filled the air as costumed creatures danced the night away. A portion of the proceeds were donated to The Center.

Description: The 6th Annual Q Film Festival presented a wide mix of feature films, short films and documentaries which focused on issues that impact the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. Thank you to all in attendance for making the festival a success!

Description: The Center Long Beach & the Office of Long Beach Vice Mayor Dr. Suja Lowenthal were proud to co-host the 4th Annual C.A.R.E To Dine event at Lola's Mexican Restaurant! The event was well received with amazing cuisine and delicious libations. Thank you to all for your support!

Event: Center Beach Bash

Location: Alfredo's Beach Club, Long Beach, CA
Description: Festivities started with appetizer's, drinks, and music. A delicious teriyaki dinner was also served. Numerous gifts were raffled off. Councilmember Suja Lowenthal was in attendance. The event was well received. The Center thanks its co-sponsors: Kevin Hyder, Famer's Insurance, Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride, Budweiser, Rage Monthly, BLADE magazines, LGB2Network and production support provided by Versatile Events.

Description: The Internation Imperial Court of Long Beach, Inc. & Empress 36 Jackie put on the 8th Annual Long Beach Harbor Yacht Cruise. Attendees were treated to buffet dinner, door prizes, cash bar, variety show & costume contest. The event benefited The Center Long Beach's Mentoring Youth Through Empowerment (MYTE) Program.

Event: Harvey Milk Day Art Exhibit

Description: The LGBTQIA Youth from The Center Long Beach’s Mentoring Youth Through Empowerment (MYTE) program and The AMP Organization displayed art specifically created for an art exhibit & reception to commemorate the legacy and dream of Harvey Milk. Thank you to LB City Councilmember Robert Garcia, our guest speakers, and all in attendance for your support.

Event: Harvey Milk "Got Milk" Art Workshop
Date: April 30, 2011

Description: The AMP Org and The Center LB, with support from Arts Council Long Beach and the Long Beach Human Relations Commission, hosted a free, fun, all ages day of creativity! The theme was "Got Milk" and there was painting, drawing and crafting Harvey Milk inspired art on recycled milk jugs and containers that will be featured at the official Harvey Milk Art Exhibit & Reception in Long Beach on May 18th.

Event: Long Beach Mardi Gras Festival And Parade

Description: . Free activities and entertainment were enjoyed by all, along with lots of masks and plenty of beads. The parade began at the Aquarium of the Pacific and continued along the boardwalk of Ranbow Harbor, culminating with the "Shoreline Village Party Gras!" concert.

Description: 4th street saw its own red carpet with folks dressed to impress. The 83rd Annual Academy Awards Ceremony was screened live at the Art Theatre to benefit the Center Long Beach. Thank you to all who attended.
