There are many ways to connect with The LGBTQ Center while we remain closed for the health and safety of everyone in our community. We have temporarily transitioned many of our programs and services online and we’d love to see you there!


Career Counseling
The Center provides free, confidential 30 minute career counseling sessions. Consultations are by appointment only and are thirty minutes long. Sessions will cover topics such as resume writing, job interview techniques, and job search techniques among other things. Career counseling sessions are currently being offered by phone.

Trans Health Services
TransVerse – TransVerse is a social group for trans, gender nonconforming, and gender expansive youth ages 16-24.
Meets: Tuesdays 7-8:30 PM

Gender Expansive – A social support group for individuals 18+ who identify anywhere along the gender spectrum! The group is supportive in nature and celebrates our accomplishments and talks about issues we face every day in our journey.
Meets: Thursdays 7 PM-9 PM

Recovery Groups
Intimate Recovery Men’s AA – A weekly group for men to explore intimacy within the lens of their recovery process.
Meets: Fridays 7-8 PM

Senior Services
The Center’s Senior Services are conducting online social and support groups and activities. We also continue to provide case management and supportive services remotely. Click here for a full list of programs and activities and to sign-up to participate.

Social & Support Groups
Haweya – Haweya is a social group that welcomes Middle Easterns and other ethnicities and races who share similar cultural background including East Africans, South Asians, Armenians, and others. We welcome friends and allies from all backgrounds ages 18+ who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, as well as those questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression and straight allies. Haweya focuses on providing support to LGBTQ+ Middle Eastern+ people and fostering a sense of community amongst them and their allies. Our discussion topics will range from spirituality to sex, relationships to health and more.

Men Over 40 – A group for gay and bisexual men to gather for social chats.

Support Positive – Dealing with a new HIV diagnosis can be a challenging and at times overwhelming. Support Positive discusses issues affecting those with a new diagnosis including relationships, managing and understanding medical care and treatment options, and dealing with family, work, and friends. If you have been diagnosed in the past two years and are looking for support, call and join your peers.

Transparent Watercolors Workshop – This is a luminous transparent & realistic workshop developed for the LGBTQ community and welcomes all who would like to learn fun and easy painting techniques while creating your own work. Create dramatic compositions that will excite your friends and paint watercolors that capture the beauty of fruits, flowers and other still life.

Youth & Family Programming
20 Somethings – 20 Somethings is a weekly social group focusing on experiences and issues of LGBTQ+ individuals ages 18-29 years old.

M.Y.T.E. (Mentoring Youth Through Empowerment) – M.Y.T.E. is an affirming space for LGBTQ+ and ally teens ages 13-18 years old.

Project Navigate Drop-in Space: Virtual TAY Drop-In – The Virtual TAY Drop-In is a bi-weekly social support space for Long Beach transitional age youth ages 18-25, of all identities. In collaboration with Project Navigate of Mental Health America’s TAY Academy.
Meets: Tuesdays and Thursday from 3-5PM.

Queer Parenting – Queer Parenting Group is a support group for queer families, however individually defined. As parenting topics evolve as children age, all are welcome, but topics will be most relevant for younger children. Children are welcome. Ideal age range of the children is pre-conception to age six.
