News from The Center Long Beach
Administrative Director Porter Gilberg at the LB Post’s Annual 40 Under 40  Reception

Welcome to our lightly renovated ENewsletter! We’ve kept all the great content, news, and events that you’ve come to expect from your local LGBTQ community center and made some slight improvements to our logo and color scheme. We hope you like it!

Speaking of redesign, have you seen our fabulous NEW WEBSITE? We are incredibly grateful to our friends at Kahlo Design for giving us a fresh new look. All of our content has been updated and we are proud to now offer our community a more user-friendly, streamlined website for you to keep up on all the latest happenings at The Center.

April was full of great happenings at The Center. First, we hosted two phenomenal QSpeaks featuring Chicago Women’s Graphics Collective member Helen Factor and internationally touring queer performance group Sister Spit! We had a blast at both events and you can check out all the photos below in our photo albums.

We are also proud to announce that on April 25 our Administrative Director Porter Gilberg was named one of LB Post’s 40 Under 40 in Long Beach. Congrats Porter!

Our friends at Interval House also received accolades in the month of April. We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks for your partnership over the years and extend big congratulations to Executive Director Carol Williams for taking the top award in leadership from the Top Workplace Award.

With Long Beach Pride just around the corner, we have lots of news in store. As always, if you’d like to march with us in the parade on May 19, we’d love to have you! Please EmailIsh Morales to sign right up.

Also, make sure to save the date on May 21 for the Harvey Milk Promenade Park & Equality Plaza red-ribbon ceremony on 3rd and Promenade. We’ll make sure to send out a special announcement as more details come our way.

In the meantime, we have a packed ENewsletter just waiting to be read by you.

Happy Pride from Your Friends at The Center!
