Ellen Hartwick first volunteered with The Center to support the development of the TransParent Families groups and The Guidebook for Educators on Transgender Students project. Ellen has served organizations that provide mental health, advocacy, and support to children, youth, and adult survivors of trauma for the past 20 years. She has provide individual, family, and group therapy; served as a clinical supervisor, manager, and trainer, and worked in school, medical, domestic violence, and mental health settings. Prior to working for The Center, Ellen worked for The Children’s Clinic of Long Beach, providing training and consultation on intimate partner violence, as well as medical social work and individual therapy with adults. A graduate of California State University Long Beach’s Masters of Social Work program, Ellen has taught community social work and enjoys facilitating workshops on mindfulness to humans of all ages.
