Juliane (Julie) McCall is a Physical Education and Health teacher for the past 33 years. She currently has been serving in the Long Beach Unified School District for the past 23 years. She coaches and is the sponsor for her middle schools Run 4 Fun and Cross-Country programs. She is also the sponsor for the Equality Club at her school.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in K-12 Physical Education, Coaching Emphasis and a Minor in Health Education, along with a Masters in Educational Administration.
Julie has been very active in her community since moving to Long Beach in 1997. She has received the Service Above Self Award in 2018, given by the Signal Hill Rotary Club, and was presented with the 2018 Extraordinary Teacher Award for the California State Assembly by Patrick O’Donnell, Assemblymember for the 70th District. Besides her full time teaching position, Julie has also been involved with Non-Profit Organizations. She was the former V. P. and Boardmember of the AIDS Food Store Long Beach for 8 years, and as a working board helped to distribute food to those experiencing HIV/AIDS in our community along with fundraising and collecting food for the pantry through other organizations. She is a Founding Boardmember of the Rainbow Lions, another organization that is community minded and service oriented. In addition she is the President/Founder and CEO of One Wish One Need. A newly formed organization whose sole purpose is to assist families and kids with essential needs and wishes. Julie is proud to serve on the board of the LGBTQ Center and looks forward to supporting the many services The Center provides to our community.
