20 Somethings

For individuals ages 18-29
Every 2nd & 4th Thursday
6:30PM - 8:00PM

20 Somethings welcomes LGBTQIA+ community members ages 18–29 and provides a supportive space focused on the everyday experiences and challenges they navigate. The group encourages organic conversation in a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment, with opportunities to connect through games, activities, movie days, and shared peer support.

Coffee Talk

Every Tuesday
11:00AM - 1:00PM

Join us every Tuesday for Coffee Talk, from 11am – 1 pm. Coffee Talk is a group for elders 55+. Come connect with other elders in a round table style and enjoy coffee and light snacks. Queer People of Color

EVERY 1ST & 3RD TUESDAY

Join a vibrant social and support space where friendship, affirmation, and community thrive. This group is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for Queer People of Color to connect, uplift one another, and celebrate the richness of our diverse identities.
 
Facilitator Alexa will guide peer-led discussions that foster meaningful connection and shared support.

Men's Wrap

Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Men’s Social Group

Join an informal, welcoming space for conversation, connection, and the exchange of ideas on topics relevant to men within the Long Beach gay and bisexual community. This group is open to gay, bisexual, and transgender men of all ages—single or partnered—who want to build community and share meaningful dialogue. Come be part of a community that grows stronger through conversation, camaraderie, and authenticity.

Gender Expansive

Every Thursday
7:15PM - 8:45PM

This weekly group is open to adults (18+) who identify anywhere along the gender spectrum, including transgender, non-binary, gender-fluid, gender-queer, intersex, and gender-nonconforming individuals. We offer a safe, affirming, and supportive space to share experiences, celebrate accomplishments, and discuss the challenges we navigate in our daily lives.

Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we will break into smaller groups for Trans Masc, Trans Femme, and Nonbinary/Genderqueer participants to allow for more focused conversation and connection.

Transparent Families Support Group

First Saturdays of the Month
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Transparent Families is a free monthly support group for parents, caregivers, and loved ones of Trans and gender‑expansive people of all ages. The group offers a space to share experiences, build community, and receive support from peers.

All new participants are asked to complete a brief intake form using the QR code on the flyer. Please note that the group does not provide youth supervision. Please note that The Center does not provide childcare services during group meetings.

The group is facilitated by longtime volunteer Aurelle Garner, who has been connected to The LGBTQ Center since 2017 through her child’s participation in our youth programs. Aurelle joined the Trans Parents group in 2019 and has been a steady source of support for youth and families ever since. She brings her lived experience as the parent of two transgender daughters and has opened her home as a safe and welcoming space for many LGBTQ youth within her daughters’ friend community.

Polyamsupport

Every 3rd Tuesday
5:00PM - 6:30PM

A group for people who are in open relationships or identify as polyamorous. We are a queer-centered group that prioritizes relationship accountability, emotional responsibility, and providing fair access. If you’re curious about this lifestyle or have questions about your current relationship, this is a great opportunity to meet likeminded folks. Many are available for advice, support, and just plain fun. The group is, first and foremost, inclusive of communities of color, disabled, and LGBTQ persons. We welcome you, solo or with your loved ones, and look forward to seeing the familiar faces that build this loving community.

Lez Chat

Every 1st & 3rd Saturday
11:00AM - 1:00PM

This group was created to provide a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for Lesbian, Bi, Queer, Trans, and Non-Binary women who are part of the 55+ community. As a drop-in group, you’re welcome to join at your own pace, no commitment required. Whether you’re seeking community, conversation, or simply some company, this space is here for you. Enjoy coffee, light snacks, and meaningful connections. Come gather with us for friendly chats, new friendships, movie days, guest speakers, game days and group outings.

Men Over 40

Every Monday
4:30PM - 6:00PM

Men Over Forty is a social group where gay, bisexual and trans men can connect in a safe space for group conversations, dining and various other activities and outings. Events are generally planned and structured by group members and participation in the planning process is encouraged. Local activities and outings are planned throughout the year.

Current scheduled events are as follows:

  • Mondays: In person discussion group at The LGBTQ Center Long Beach
  • Third Saturday: Brunch at a local restaurant: 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
  • Last Monday: Potluck at The LGBTQ Center Long Beach

Consultation Group - for Licensed & Pre-Licensed Individual & Group Psychotherapists

Every 4th Wednesday
11:00AM - 12:30PM

This is a monthly in-person, member-facilitated closed group meeting for licensed and pre-licensed (associate) psychotherapists who are providing services to individuals and groups. This space offers support to those who find themselves needing increased clinical support to contend with ethical dilemmas, theoretical practice, and routes for professional growth.

Cost: $25 per Meeting

MYTE

For youth ages 13-18
Every Tuesday
3:30PM - 6:30PM

Mentoring Youth Through Empowerment (MYTE) is a safe and inclusive program for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies who are between the ages of 13 to 18. MYTE’s focus is to provide youth with affirming resources, peer connections, and advocacy to promote their health and well being.

At our drop-in program, youth can socialize with peers, participate in fun and educational events, discover local LGBTQ+ resources, and engage in enriching, creative activities to whatever degree the youth feel comfortable.
